Tracker Installation Notes

I am having issues with SnapBase ‘Drag-and-Drop’ or ‘Searching Street Address’ functionality in Windows 10, what do I do?
How do I get remote support for my Track'Air product?

Pre-installation

  • Ensure to temporarily disable all anti-virus software*
  • Ensure destination drive is not full.
  • Be sure to disable remote software (e.g Teamviewer, etc) is turned off
  • Be sure that you are logged in as the Windows Administrator

The Software should be installed by first right clicking on the installation package and choose ‘Run as Administrator’. Subsequently run all Track’Air programs as administrator. Obtain the installation zip file. The password to unzip the zip file is your license id. Unzip the installation put the file into in a temporary folder on the C or D drive (do not run from directly from the desktop). Then right click and run as administrator.

Installation

  • Force software to open as Administrator:
      1. Log in as a user with local administrative privileges.
      2. Right click on the application shortcut and select Properties.
      3. In the Properties window, click on the Compatibility tab.

    1. Check “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” and Choose Windows XP
    2. Check off the “Run this program as an administrator” box.
    3. Press the “Apply” button.
    4. Press the “Ok” button.

This must be done for each program individually.

Or

You can follow the steps below to allow all programs to be ran as Administrator.

        1. Select the “Tools” tab
        2. Select “Change UAC Settings”

System Configuration

        1. Click the “Launch” button (bottom right)
        2. Drag the Slider down to “Never Notify”

User Account Control Settings

      1. Press the “Ok” button.

Keep in mind that the UAC is meant to prevent unauthorized changes to your computer and it has now been removed.

By following the steps above you should have a smooth installation on Windows 7.

* SnapShot software may not be compatible with Team Viewer. Please disable Team Viewer if this becomes an issue.

* Whenever possible use a full, new, installation of Windows. Do not upgrade from a previous version.

* Be sure to enable you anti-virus software after installation.

Windows 8 and 10 Specific

      1. Some Windows 8 and 10 installations don’t actually shut the computer down when you press the ‘Shutdown’ button. You will need to go under ‘Power Options’ in the Control Panel and select “Change what the power buttons do” and uncheck “Turn on fast startup” and select “Shut Down” when the power button is pressed.
      2. If you would like to use the classic windows look and feel instead of the new Metro design, there is a free utility called Classic Shell.

      4. If you prefer the new design, it is recommended that you open all TrackAir related applications as Administrator.
      5. Done.
